Come join us for 4 weeks of free introductory classes on Indian classical dance Kathak every Sunday at 1 PM (Toronto Time). These classes will teach you the very basic principles of Kathak to get your interested for more!

These classes are taught by a reputed Kathak dancer, Ms. Aishwarya Banerjee who is the disciple of a renowned Guru Pt. Jaikishan Maharaj ji, the elder son of Padma Vibhushan Pt. Birju Maharaj ji in Kathak Kendra.

– History of Kathak

– Description of teen taal

– Basic hand movements (2,3,4)

– Learning of tatkar (various laya)

– Introduction of chakkar

– Guru vandana

Aishwarya has Master’s degree in Kathak Dance with 1st class marks from Indira Kala Sangeet Viswavidyalaya, Khairagarh.
